Who is she, this marie marie? Hair-shaping, color-changing, beauty-making girl? One day this passion for art sprouted up inside her, and she took it out on everything in sight. Her creations of paper and crayons eventually became sculptures of hair on everyone in sight. She grew up and went to college to meddle in the fashion industry, which was short lived. She realized that more than fashion, she loved people, and so psychology became her new degree of choice. Just when all the schooling seemed to be complete, it came to marie marie that there existed a career that combined her loves of art, fashion, and people. So back to school she went.

In 2003 she attended the Aveda Institute in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated in the top of her class and moved to Atlanta the following month to work for VanMichael Salon as a colorist. After a season of corporate hairdressing, marie marie knew it was time to fly solo. Working for herself has allowed marie marie to blossom in both technical and artistic areas of the industry. She has completed advanced training with Redken, Aveda, and American crew. Editorial work, hair and art show collaborations, and art direction are a few of the avenues she is currently exploring. Marie marie continues to have big dreams for her story, and feels quite fortunate to say that she is a very happy hairdresser.
